Off-Site Hosting (Modem)

Counting Technologies would include a phone modem in each store location connected to the Counter Manager. The modem would be connected to a Counting Technologies Firewall/Router that would call out to the Counting Technologies Data Center. The Firewall is added for additional security, and prevents any calls to the modem other than of Counting Technologies. Our servers would collect the traffic data, then transmit the data to a client-managed server by secure VPN or FTP server in any format desired (TXT, CSV, MDB, SQL tables) for integration with other data systems.

Data flow

The wireless counters transmit the count via 418 or 900MHz signal to the Counter Manager. The Counter Manager stores the data and calls out via phone modem to our off-site location. Connection time for each store is approximately 30 seconds. Enterprise-class servers in the Counting Technologies Data Center collects the traffic data, performs a back-up, and conducts a series of basic QA tests for completeness. The data is then transmitted via FTP or Secure Web (https) to our client's desired location.
