Off-Site Hosting (LAN/WAN)

Counting Technologies Corporation recommends the approach of off-site hosting by providing Counting Technologies Corporation a secure VPN tunnel to the client's network that allows us to collect, archive, and process the traffic data without the need for the clients to hire and support IT and data management specialists. A File Mount on a secure FTP server would also allow Counting Technologies Corporation to obtain the data.

Data flow

The wireless counters transmit the count via 418 MHz signal to the Counter Manager. The LAN/WAN option would allow the Counter Manager to connect to the client's LAN of each store. In either real time or nightly, the Counter Manager will transmit (via XML) a small file to a secure mount on the client's FTP server (usually in the DMZ). Counting Technologies would then collect the data and perform either a basic QA processing, or more thorough DATAssurance™ services. Transmission back to the clients would be on the same FTP server.

We recommend the DATAssurance™ services be applied to ensure the highest quality and accuracy of the traffic data.
